Didim to Kuşadası

Getting from Didim to Kuşadası by transfer, bus or car.

In short

Didim (Altınkum) is about 72 km from Kuşadası. A private transfer or car takes around an hour; Kamil Koç runs a direct bus twice a day (about 1 hour 10 minutes), or you can travel cheaply by dolmuş via Söke.

Distance and overview

Didim — home to the resort town of Altınkum and the famous Temple of Apollo — lies about 72 km south of Kuşadası. The two are linked through Söke, the regional transport hub, which sits roughly 20 km from Kuşadası and 50 km from Didim. By private car the drive is around an hour; public transport takes longer depending on connections.

Private transfer — fastest, and great for sightseeing

A private transfer is the easiest way to travel between Didim and Kuşadası, about an hour door to door. It is the natural choice if you want to stop at the Temple of Apollo at Didyma on the way, or if you are travelling with luggage and beach gear after an Altınkum holiday.

Direct bus (Kamil Koç)

Kamil Koç operates a direct coach between Kuşadası bus station and Didim bus station roughly twice a day, taking about 1 hour 10 minutes. It is comfortable and cheap, but the limited timetable means you need to plan around the departures — book ahead in summer.

By dolmuş via Söke

The flexible budget option is to travel by dolmuş (shared minibus) with a change at Söke. Didim–Söke minibuses start around 06:30 from Didim and run at roughly 20–25 minute intervals through the day; at Söke otogar you change to a frequent Söke–Kuşadası minibus for the final ~20 km. Allow around 1.5–2 hours in total including the connection.

Driving

By car it is about an hour over roughly 72 km on good roads, mostly via Söke. A pleasant drive if you are exploring the southern Aegean coast and its ancient sites such as Priene, Miletus and Didyma.

Combine with the Temple of Apollo

Because Didyma (with its colossal Temple of Apollo) is right in Didim, many visitors see it as part of a Priene–Miletus–Didyma day tour from Kuşadası rather than travelling purely for transport. If sightseeing is your goal, that guided day trip is often the better value.
